Yes
Yes he is. He thinks that if he says it's rare, it is. Truth is it's not in much better shape than some that have sold for $2,000.00.

Rare Opel GT
Maybe when he priced it out he put in 1 too many 0's, and it may truely be rare in Berry, Ky. As far as a 5 speed transmission, maybe he is counting reverse along with the 4 forward gears. I think maybe he needs to lower his expectations some if he wants to sell it. It does look like a pretty good original survivor and would make a very good start for someone wishing to restore a GT if you can live with that color, Lets wish him luck if he can get anywhere near that kinda money for that car then there is hope for us all.

It doesn't look bad. I agree the price is high. The only odd thing is the fuel line coming out of the tank. Did '69 use a 90 degree elbow or was this a retrofit?

Car looks to be relatively solid. I was a little surprised to see where it looks like the driver side window channel may have broken loose inside the door though. Notice the two spot welds and what looks like a little rust stain bleeding through. This car is priced about like the 1.1 water pump on eBay with a "Buy It Now" price of $160. I'd have to count how many I have but would probably sell all but two for that much. ![]() Harold |
