I have the OGTS kit that matches the original carpet style. I believe they sell two kits with the other kit type not being a match to the original carpeting. So, you'll need to decide what you want to go with. The pieces are a perfect fit IMHO and are high quality.

I installed an OGTS carpet kit today and I have to say that it was reletively painless. Every piece fit where it was supposed to, it just took some time. I also went pretty slow, because it was not only my first carpet install in a GT, but my fit carpet install ever.

I'll post some pictures later. It got dark before I was able to finish and take a picture. For 130 bucks though, I don't think that you can beat it!

    Hi,

I installed the OGTS carpet kit last month, it is indeed easy to install and a good fit not perfect but nothing you can't overcome.

Looks real nice.I did not expect the pieces to be sawn on the edges.
Do you have a close-up of the edge on th ebottom of the door and also..how do you cover the tunnel

    Thank you very much

    Hi,

I attached some more pics of the carpet. For the tunnel pieces I cut some pieces out of the old carpet and glued it on (see last pic).

The carpet set does not come with the carpet for the tunnel?
Are you going to glue something between the end of the carpet and the edge of the door, so you don't see the metal?

    Carpet choices

Check out this thread for carpets
    http://www.opelgt.com/forums/2b-seat...gt-carpet.html

I used Automat Carpet set, comes with heavy carpet padding sewn to carpet back, bound sewn edges, and comes in any color or any type carpet .
I used the 80/90 pile loop and seems to be holding up well. It's not as plush, but I'am pleased with the results. Installed 10 years ago.

I will tell you that it cost a bit more $$$ , but fits perfect and I have been very happy with there carpet and service.

    Hi,

The chrome piece covers everything and holds the edge into place, so no need to to glue something between it.

The carpet kit I bought didn't contain the pieces for on the plastic tunnel pieces.

    Hi,

They came with the car, I don't know if OGTS sells them.

    Here you can buy them:
    Türeinstiegsleisten -- Splendidparts

Unless you're going for the original look, another option is to buy some bulk automototive grade carpet and and create your own almost seamless alternative. It's definitely more work, but all it takes is time and patience to fit it....and the cost is similar.

You really, REALLY want to do that again, right? Just to see if you can make it just a bit better...

    Seamless Carpet

Seamless look in GT carpet looks great!
I like the white/ buckskin dash, instead of black color.

Thanks! I odered the carpet from The Miami Corporation in Cincinnati. It's Super-Flex-II and ran 9.13 per yard and comes in an 80" width. As you can see from the first photo below, the front half of the interior was done in only two pieces with the seam running beneath the center console. I had enough left over to make matching floor mats that you can barely tell are present since the edges blend in so well - as shown in the 2nd and 3rd photos.

It's really not all that hard to do if you just take your time. This was my first attempt at it. Anyone can do this. It's not rocket science. Dont be intimidated.
