    Saved a Kadett B

A friend and I saved a Kadett B. Opels in our area are not too common and most just go to crushers, but we saved this one. Plans are to clean, repair, sell. Hopefully to a Opel enthusiast.

Looks like the first Opel we had in the family, white 72 with red interior, and automatic.

This one is a early 1967. Has leaf springs in back. It is white with what was red interior. 1.1 with a manual though. The body is in actually in pretty good shape. I was surprised after seeing these pictures with all that clutter around it. The roof rack is in great shape too.

Did some clean up today. What a rat hole, no real rats though. Wife is starting to take a liking to it now so it may already have a home.

Tony- did you sell that wagon you had a couple of years ago, or is it still available?

    Manta Rallye

    JudokaJohn,

I see you live in St. Louis and I am about 25 miles west of down town St. Louis. I am looking for a cheap and decent Manta Rallye to restore but I do not know where to look. Can you offer suggestions of where to look?

My interest in the Manta Rallye is that my mom owned a silver/black one in the 70's and I enjoyed driving it when I turned 16. I would like to restore one close to what she had. I've redone a few cars and the most recent and the most similar to a Manta Rallye is a 76 BMW 2002. Please let me know if you can point me in a direction.

ghcoe I like the Kadett touring and I am sorry for momentarily high jacking your thread.

    Thanks,
    John Hoffner

If you can't find it on this site, Cars.com or craigslist I am not sure where else to look. I saw a Manta for sale about a year or so ago. it was in Granite City. they are becoming rarer and rarer. If i see something I will send you a note.
