Most of you have your Opels in the garage fixing them up. Now that its warmer and its time to break them out and drive them! Pictures are appreciated

Winter Opel Project....... If it was easy everyone would be doing it!

Finally finished that project, checking the oil in the GT. Done. Now for a beer to celebrate!

I went out to the barn, yup, the GT is still there. I'm exhausted. I'd have that beer, but I left it outside and they are frozen in the cooler.

Thumbs upAgreed - winter is a great time to "Think about it"

All that I have gotten done to the Blue GT is to get the Getrag out last weekend and try to figure out where the leak is coming from. I drained it and refilled it with Diesel fuel to clean out the regular petroleum based gear oil I mistakenly filled it with last year, then Porsche Tom and I hooked up a drill to the mainshaft and turned it to clean out the rest of the gook (and hoped to find out if the front seal was leaking - it wasn't). I also tightened up the linkage so it isn't so sloppy. I'll empty out the Diesel fuel, replace the front seal and hope to get it back in the car this weekend after starting the engine so I can make sure the rear main seal is doing its job.

After all - Carlisle is not that far off and I would like to not be totally embarrassed about no one having seen Opie in about 6 years! We'll give it a valiant effort!

    Easy winter this year.

Got my coilover front end installed.

Raised the car 1 1/2" for more ground clearance. Doesn't look as good but at least now I will be able to go over speed bumps.

New aftermarket brake booster, master cylinder, adjustable proportioning valve and line lock.

    Reconfigured the surpentine belt drive.

    Rebuilt the entire wiper assy.

Made carbon fiber covers for the wiper motor bracket and the fresh air intake on the cowl. (This was done to improve A/C efficency on hot summer days.)

Wasn't in the plan for this winter, but since it looks like we still have some time before spring, I've starter making some carbon fiber bumpers for the car.
71 GT, Ford 2.0 Zetec, Jenvey throttle bodies, Omex engine management. Subaru 6 speed transmission , Ford 7.5 4.10 posi narrowed torque arm rear end. Coilover front end. Electric power steering. Honda Accord 4 wheel discs. In dash Vintage Air, Dakota Digital gauges. Power windows. Keyless entry. Cruise.
