Need engine help

I just bought a 71 gt. The lady I bought it from said the engine was locked up, due to her daughter running it dry. So the car sat for 13 years. I got the car home and found that it does turn over with the starter but has a nasty clack in the fourth piston.
My problem is that I have never rebuilt an opel engine before. I'm not looking to spend too much, but enough to get it running well. Should i even try or just get a used 1.9 from opel's unlimited or ogts? If anyone has a 1.9 that they know works well, I would be interested. I live in Virginia and would make the drive about 200 miles I guess ,or pay motorfreight. I know some of you have taken out your original engines to make super modifieid cars. If ya got one in the garage that works well and needs a home let me know.

i have a engine from a 71 GT that was pulled from a strong running car. compression and oil pressure checks out great on it, altho i'm in southwest michigan, little farther than 200 miles. i can make you a far better deal on it than you'd think you'd ever get, let me know if your interested.
