Funny thing Hiro, here I can buy C16 racing fuel (117 octane) for about $10.50 per US gallon. But 5 years ago I could buy the same stuff for +/-$5 per gallon! So I think this is what hurts a lot of my friends who travel far to race, now they need to pay 'racing fuel prices' for their towing rigs!

House passes bill to sue OPEC over oil prices
Suing OPEC doesn't make sense. OPEC's "monopoly" forces world oil trade to be denominated in dollars. If OPEC should move off the dollar peg due to U.S. sanctions, the U.S. economy would be screwed even worse at this point. I see the only solution being the elimination of the Federal Reserve (a private cartel—NOT part of the U.S. government). Then return to the People/Congress the power to create money. That would immediately end the devaluation of our currency, directly responsible for the escalation of gas prices. |

AN ENGINEERING MASTER PIECE During the construction phase...... Dubai ,United Arab Emirates All finished. Notice the size of the palm trees outside.......... Can you guess what it is ??? Remember, this is in the middle of the desert.... The very HOT desert where temperatures get up to 120 degrees..... Unbelievable! But true..... It is a self contained Ski Resort.......................The INSIDE view: Why is gasoline $3.50 a gallon for regular unleaded?????? $4.039 here this morning! So they can ski in the desert, that's why! Are we stupid or what!

Lack of ....
BALLS!
In the 'good ole days' of Gunboat Diplomancy, when the Empire was threatened by over-charging WOGS to British just hauled off with a couple of Navy ships and lobbed a shell or two into the appropriate capital city ... Now it would only take a very small nuke in the right place to bring the gougers to their senses. Neither Obama (nor Clinton!) would do it ... but perhaps McCain is tough enough ?? ... or am I under-estimating Hilary.

The U.S. government gets its financial backing by asking the Federal Reserve banking cartel for "money" in order to finance its wars of empire. The Fed then creates this "money" out of thin air (no intrinsic value backing it), LOANS that paper to the government, and then charges the government a usury INTEREST FEE for the privilege. The government has no way to repay the Fed on its own, except by taxing the American people and their future generations. Meanwhile, all these additional fiat dollars, conjured out of thin air, go into circulation and cause the value of the U.S. monetary unit to depreciate. Inflation means that we get less goods for the same money. And of course, since the price of oil is tied to the devaluing dollar, the situation is exacerbated. It's a vicious cycle! Ugh. Gassed up my car this morning. I've been driving like a little old lady to try to conserve fuel.
New prices at the pump in New Hartford, Connecticut today: 87 - $4.17 89 - $4.37 93 - $4.47 Diesel is well over $5 per gallon. Heating oil almost there too... ![]() Bob

Jim, I don't see how provoking a war will solve the oil situation. It just pisses off the rest of the world. We're supposed to be setting a good example. We don't want military powers thinking like that, so we go stop them when they try. Or try to stop them, I should say. Seems like it fails every time now because we won't use the force necessary to get the job done. I predict we will surrender in Iraq soon and let them work it out themselves. So all we accomplished was getting rid of Saddam. Wasn't worth it, huh?
Personally I'd rather we just "claim" Iraq and make it the most formidable military base in the world. And be ready to extend it into Iran. But it won't ever happen. The majority of those citizens don't want to live a peaceful, happy life. It's not how they were brought up, and who are we to change that?

Iraq Iran???????
Those two countries on their own had not so much to do with this mess, anyway we could overthrow and occupy those countries and be right back where we are now with the corporations taking over the oil fields and shoving the oil pipe straight up our rears again!!!!!

No kidding. I wouldn't expect ANYTHING could bring the price back down. At this point I haven't heard of anyone being angry enough about the price to actually want to do something about it. How many people, really now, have cut their use in half since the price doubled? So, why would an oil company want to reduce the price even if their cost for crude went down?
The price of gas doesn't worry me. It is diesel fuel that gets the job done. The price of everything we need to survive will have to increase as drastically as the cost of the fuel to produce and ship it.
