I spoke with Gil today. He said he would have to get with Mike Meier and work out the dates.

Well, I am going this year. Always chose Kool April Nites instead of the Fun Run. Last year I told my buddy that I was going on the Fun Run, more Opels there than anywhere else. Don't win anything anyway so why not be with Opel people.

I hope to see you there, Bob. Depending on which weekend it turns out to be, I might tow my GT up from Arizona.

Cam, that would be great, the more the merrier. Usually the third weekend, but that was in the past. Hope you can make it there, it would be good to see Opels instead of two hundred fifty muscle cars.

I got Snowflake running it was the fuel pump that went bad, did not think that could be problem since just put a new one in 3 yrs. ago. Ive had to sit out a few years and last year had to drive miss Greenie, this year I should be able to park with the rest. In april I will have the 2nd, 16th, 23rd free

Gil, Mike Meier, and I had an informal meeting; and discussed the date. April, as long as it's not Easter (Sunday the 16th) or tax day (Tuesday, the 18th) would work for Gil.

What about the 3rd Saturday in April (the 22nd)?

Hmmm! Alex, the 22nd is actually the 4th Saturday in April! -- Doug

PS The 4th Saturday doesn't work for me as my wife is "forcing" me to take her to the Statewide Hula Festival/Competition on Big Island, Hawaii that week.

Either weekend works for me, missed it too many times, I really want to meet some of the folks from the forum. Count me in for any weekend.

What does everyone think about the 15th then?

It is the day before Easter.

The 15th is OK with me.

CA193 the road we took from Georgetown to Placerville last year is a washout.

Any of those weekends will work for me. Being retired has it's advantages. I am hoping whatever weekend is chosen, that we have a lot of people going, it would be nice to attach some faces to the names on the forum.

The 15th should work for me too, though later in the month would actually be better. I really now just have to decide if I'm willing to tow my car 1650 miles round-trip for just a few hours of Opel fun. It sounded like a great idea a couple months ago.

    GOLd Rush

The 15th will fit in very well if Snowflake cooperates will be there. The other day I went to Gil s place and returned on Hwy 49 from Sonora to Mariposa only to find wash outs all along.

All right, a deadline. I still have to take care of alignment and exhaust problems along
with insurance and registration. I just checked - the wagon hasn't been on the road
for better than 3 years. I'm embarrassed. The 15th works for me.

    2017 Gold Rush to Gil's

    Bump bump
Ok the 15th of April seems to be the agreed date. That seems to have been the easy part now all we need to decide is where to meet and how we gonna get there? I am planning to meet up with Mike at Sonora Raceway later this month and see if we all can get something going.

The 15th will work for me, I think that I will meet everyone at Gils, since we will be coming from Nevada. I would love to drive with a "pack" of Opels, but the sensible thing would be to meet the gang at Gils. Is the date confirmed with Gil? Let me know and I will mark the calendar. Hope everyone has their taxes done by then, would hate to have to spend the next two days figuring out taxes.

All right, nothing left to do but alignment to get all the wheels pointed in the
right direction. I think the wagon is actually going to be ready. 15 April
    certainly works for me.

Hey Mr. Bob, if you want to run with the Opels to Gil's place,
consider coming over the night before. I'm located near
Auburn where the convoy usually starts. (About 3 hours
from Fallon) Plenty of room. I reckon that goes for anybody.
C'mon, let's spend the night detailing and shootin' all the
bull worth shootin'. Just a thought.
