Just got off the phone with a fellow Opeler.
Our thinking was meeting at the bar & grill because its cold outside Burrrr
Its close to the interstate and easy to get to less than 2 miles.
Another idea came up.. how about a swap meet also? at the same place and time.
Starting time around 10:30 am till the early morning hours of the next day.
What do ya'll think?

Got a call from Edwin on this and I see no problem with the dates.
Only problem I see is the weather, my GT does not drive very well with frozen passengers. But in all, I am close to either location so no problem there.

As to a swap meet, I would check with the owner of the establishment prior to setup a flea market at their store front. We did that once without actual permision and we got to meet the complete Lake city police department.

Gary, All GA and Al Opelers;
Just finished talking with Edwin, and the Delkwood Grill (Pizza Restaurant, Karaoke, Sports Bar. Marietta, GA) does indeed serve lunch, from 11:30am, but, Edwin has known these people personally for quite some time and Edwin says we could probably meet in the room earlier, we just couldn't order food till they got things fired up. Edwin also says there's plenty of parking, so all the Opels could be parked together, as well as a back door to go and come as we please without going through the resturant.
Now, some clarification, it's not that we want to make it a swap meet, but, if you want to post your "wish list" then those who might have what you want can bring it. Let's keep it simple, no motors and such switches, small parts and such would make things easier.

Edwin says there's at least 3 hotels nearby, so check it and let us know.

Indoor sounds good. My GT is currently running, so it should make an appearance.

I talked to Reis (Agent NUB) and he might come out to meet Gary, check out the cars and show us his Nova.

Another Alabama guy interested in traveling to Georgia for the meet. I will see if my brother can meet me thier since he lives in Atlanta.

We do need a few parts so the swap meet thing could possibly help us out a bit. Does anyone have an automatic transmission dip stick tube and stick? How about a speedometer cable?

We would also like to possibly throw together a build party one weekend so we can get our dads GT built hopefully prior to the end of May, 2008. The car is located in Prattville, Alabama and we will provide food and beer. Please let one of us know if we can schedule something one weekend. We have many hotels and a Robert Trent Jones golf course nearby too.
