Gary's trip
For those of ya'll that can make it, Gary is supposed to be arriving in Atlanta on the 11th of March. He's arriving in the afternoon and we're, or rather I, am trying to arrange a quick dinner meet. The time frame is looking like the 6-ish pm area. A resturant has not been picked out, but, it will be somewhere downtown, or a "known" place. Check your schedules and see if you can make it.

My schedule is OK on the 11th. Since I am downtown to it will be easy for me to meet up with you.
The question is were downtown? CNN Center is not bad. There is a sports bar there or we could eat in the court area. Last edited by tekenaar; 02-29-2008 at 02:49 PM.. |

I would like to come as well.
Jocks and Jills would be fine but it doesn't have a close by parking area, you have the parking deck for the World Congress Center but you can't really put cars together. Though it might be a little difficult to find a place with close parking. |

I agree that CNN Center does not lend itself to showing off cars and you have to pay for parking.
Since it would be during the week and traffic in Atlanta is "Wonderful", I was thinking of some place that would be central to get folks together and would be easy to get to using MARTA. MARTA runs a train from the airport to CNN. I am up to other ideas. Like the VARSITY downtown across from the Georgia Tech. Construction on 14th Street causes a little bit of trouble for any location downtown (I know I work at 16th & Peachtree). I am open for any other locations. |

I really don't think this is a meet to show off cars, more likely it is just to be with Gary and to chit-chat about Opels and stuff. Showing cars is not a good place in downtown Atlanta, unless you're in the World of Wheels Show, or like what has been suggested The Varsity, but, The Varsity meet should be on a weekend, DEFINITELY not during the week

Have Opel, Will Travel

If you make it somewhere I can get to in traffic (or give me good non-85 directions) I might be able to swing down as well. I probably owe Gary a dinner for something anyway....
Would getting an Opel that hasn't run in 13 years running and driving in a week be any sort of new record? |
