Newbie in Tha North GA area

Hey Folks, just found this awesome forum...I live in Blairsville, and am in
beginning stages of lust for a Opel GT...as a young boy I fell in love with
the Opel's @ 12 years old (1969) had the sales ads posted all over my walls

After years of raising my girls and morgages it's time for me...I would like to
find an Opel GT to purchase....either to restore or a restored Opel...any help
would be greatly appreciated...have already started gathering info from the
forum and do appreciate all the very helpful info

Looking forward to being a part of the group and getting to know you folks

Steven;
Welcome to the community, and welcome to the GA Opelers. If you have time, this weekend we're having a picnic/meet at Red Top Mountain State Park. Check out this thread for details.

Welcome Steven! I was just in Blairsville a few weeks back on the way to Hiawassee. Nice area and it'll be great for driving your "new" Opel GT on some twisty roads when you get it!

Hello and salutations

Welcome to our madness!

I don't know what it is about these little cars but they do seem to adopt people easily.

Like you, I had my first Opel GT when I was in high school. Lots of my friends used to laugh at me because of the lack of horsepower so I traded the Opel for a 1967 Mustang Shelby. In '88 I took over a restoration shop and there was a '72 Opel in the yard which had been abandoned by the owner. Needles to say, I restored the car and gave it a bit of horsepower.

Since then, I have owned several and can't see my way without one.

Welcome and I hope to see you Saturday.

Steve;
All you need to bring is your own drinks, the rest is being provided, oh, and bring an "appetite" to talk and learn Opels!

It'll be a shame that I won't be able to meet our new enthusiast. The GA group is probably the most active group on the boards, so we'll get you in a GT soon enough and I'll meet you.

BTW, you might want to check this one out. Used to be owned by a member of the GA group. There is some good work done to it but still could use a bit more. Custom Blitz speaker grills are cool.

I met the seller of this car at the Monroe, GA car show earlier in the year. At the time he was planning on putting some money into the GT after his other show cars were finished up (as I recall, he and his wife both have other cars they show). I guess he changed his mind. This looks like a good prospect for our newest GA member unless Steven wants a more stock look.
