Unanswered: Ignition Question

Does anyone know if the ignition out of a 71 opel wagon would work in my 70 gt? Not sure what type of opel wagon.

Thanks for the help
Gary

If you're referring to the ignition switch, no it will not work. If you're referring to the ignition components, i.e., the points, cap, rotor button, the dist, as long as both motors are 1.9, they are useable

I found a Lucas Type 47SA Ignition Switch on ebay that fits perfectly into the cigarrette lighter hole ( remember- smoking is unhealthy for you). The switch along with an OTTO start has worked perfectly for me.

So, before I move this thread (and it WILL be moved, as it belongs somewhere other than the Group 1 - Electrical Forum, which shouldn't be posted to, as it has a BUNCH of sub-Forums that shoudl be used), just what ARE you referring to? Spark ignition, starter switch, or ???
