Little gray wire?

I recently purchased a 73 GT. Needless to say, the previous owner conducted some "unique" engineering to keep it running. Anywho, there is a small gray wire which runs out of the ignition switch body. Where does it go? It was disconnected when I took the switch out.

That grey wire is the ignition key/door open "buzzer" wire which goes to the white plug at the pass-side of the fuse box . . .

I see said the blind man. Does this wire need to be fixed into the round switch located at the bottom of the ignition switch housing, next to the black, red and black/red wires?
