Answered: Can horn button contacts be cleaned?

The horn button on my '74 Ascona isn't making contact. I've determined that the horn is functional by grounding the wire going to the horn button. How do I get the button off to clean the contacts? Are there any known issues with Opel horn buttons? This is a stock Opel steering wheel/button.

I believe the is a ground wire that comes out of the steering column that supplies the ground to the horn ring. Before you mess with the steering wheel and horn contact assembly I would verify that this wire exists in an Ascona and if it does make sure it is properly grounded.

Horns draw a pretty good slug of current, if there isn't a relay feeding power from the switch to the horn I would add one.
