Sounds like a static discharge from you moving around in the seat and building up a charge. Try placing a hand on the car body BEFORE your foot touches the ground (terra earth)

Getting shocked from 12V makes no sense at all unless you were standing in a puddle of water. What kind of ignition system is on your car CD maybe? You have to be getting nailed from something more than 12V.

Has the car ran in the past?
Has it run recently?
Not much info to go on here.
I don't see how or what would cause it to give you a shock by touching the body.
Static electricity perhaps?
Here's what I would do...
Take a 12 volt tester and go between battery posts to see if you have juice at the battery.
Touch the tester from the positive to the body to see if the battery is grounded.
Put the tester on the center starter terminal and to a ground to see if juice is getting that far.
Do the guages move when the key is turned?
Need more info on the problem and history of the car, (running, non-running etc) to be able to offer much help.
Where do you live and maybe local Opelers could offer a hand.

Jeff

I've been nailed by 12 volts before. The conditions must have been perfect or I'm a wimp.

Picture this a very hot day sweating like a pig. Reached up to replace of all things a dome light bulb and bammmm it hit me. The car was not even running so where talking about 12.6 volts at the most.
