Hmmm.. OK, I guess they wouldn't work at 45 degrees. But they will tolerate a small angle, as mine are not dead vertical; they are mounted farther back than 'normal' due to the roll bar being directly below the B pillar mount.

BTW, the price seems to fluctuate on ebay, and I don't know why black would cost more.
