Not sure I'm much help on your brakes but I see you're in Grandville, MI with restored GT. I'm in Hudsonville with my '70 GT. Welcome to the site, this place and these guys are awsome. Hope to see you around.
RU the guy I meet last Sat. night in Hudsonville? Could be as easy as the check valve for the booster is installed backward?

Sounds like either the Main Spring in the Booster may have broken.
Pull the master and booster off of the GT and look inside with a flash light to see if big main spring in the booster snapped. Very rare, but can happen.

And for pete sake get that baby out to Hudsonville on a Sat. night soon, car show there every Sat. night from 5:30ish to sunset. It's cool, low key but it needs more than 1 Opel!. There's always 10 Vettes, yucky. (I'll be up north in my GT this weekend though)
