Unanswered: Brakes pull left
Calipers are good (last I checked) But when you apply the brake...the car REALLY wants to take you left...HARD. last time I drove it was over a year ago, and I got used to correcting with the steering, but I think my dad is going to give me a green light to start fixing little things on it. Does this sound like a common problem or am I missing something simple?

Front brakes are self-adjusting, so it could be the rear brakes need to be looked at and adjusted. The other possibility is the hoses to the calipers. They have been known to collapse internally and become one-way check valves, which could also be the cause of your braking problems.

It's easy enough to check brake application if it's that bad. Jack up the front end and spin the tires and have someone hit the brakes. It sounds like the left one is working better than the right one since it's pulling that way. If you bleed the front brakes the right one probably won't have much fluid coming out of the bleeder screw because of a restricted hose.
Don't just replace the hose that you think is bad, REPLACE ALL THREE OF THEM! Harold |
