Stosh;
That looks like the booster for a GT, if I'm not mistaken. The rod is threaded for the GT pedal rod.

i thought about that myself but don't have any pic to compare it to. i know ATE was used on a lot of different European vehicles. maybe someone can confirm this. either way it will be up on Ebay soon unless someone has a like new booster for my Ascona and might want to trade.

They used T51s on many cars from Mercedes to Saab, VW and even Fords.
Here are some pics of GT boosters that might help: ATE Brake Booster GT.2 - Opel Photo Gallery ATE Brake Booster GT.1 - Opel Photo Gallery http://www.opelgt.com/forums/attachm...-mc-assy-1.jpg I noticed the vacuum port on your part is lower left of the MC while the old part pic (and the vac port on my GT) is upper left of the MC. Hard to compare the length of the input shaft with the boot and hex union on the old part. Here's a pic of a nice one Cadinum Plated Brake Booster pictures from cars photos on webshots I am no GT expert but on the surface it may not be the right application but you can measure the depth and bolt spacing because it might also bolt right up and work with a small mod or two. yeah, the fitting is about 2 inches below where mine is but everything else would bolt up. the rod for the pedal sticks out about 4 inches. too bad i didn't have a way to cross ATE numbers. i kinda wonder if this might fit an early Porsche?

well i mention the Porsche possibilty because my dad work at Stoddard Porsche/Audi in the late 70's. while he was there, the owner was buying up warehouses of parts from germany. he would keep the performance parts and, literally, throw out everything else. the employees were allowed to take anything they wanted fron the trash. so i have a bunch of odd small eletrical parts with no ID#, some Audi trim parts, some Bosch alternator and starter windings, and have no idea what fits what. we also used to have a whole mess of upholstery but that got used up on a variety of things through the years. so with that being said, i don't know if this booster came from the Buick/opel dealer or the Porsche/Audi dealer.....or even the Fiat/Lancia/Mazda dealer(forgot about that one)
