Answered: Where did my fluid go????

I'm at Crusin' the Coast every thing is AWSOME! the car is runnig great but when I did my normal morning check before getting on the road to the event of the day I noticed that almost all my brake fluid was gone not a good thing in heavy traffic with many other high dollar cars around. Checked all 4 wheels and could not find any signs of a fulid leak. Filled up the plastic container and hit the road. Went about 40 miles and parked for the show of the day. Over 2000 cars! Got ready to leave and checked the status and it was down about 1/4. No obvious leaks. Filled it up and drove 20 miles and it was down some more.

Where is the fluid going?????

It is not required to remove the master cylinder just to check for leaking into the booster. Simply take out the hose connection from the master cylinder and insert something flexably (I use a piece paper towel taped to a coat hanger) run it down the hole until you feel it touch the bottm of the booster. Pull it out and see how far up the paper towel is wet with fluid, and you can go from there. If you are losing fluid and no calipers, wheel cylinders or the master cylinder is leaking then I agree it is going in the booster.

It could be leaking into your brake booster. I've heard of this happening to others.

Another possibility

There is a rubber hose in front of the rear diff. I discovered while bleeding my brakes that my GT was leaking there. OGTS has this hose in stock. HTH

master cyl.

Im haveing the same problem right now.It is time for you to re-build or replace your master cyl.Rock auto has mine right now for re-build..cost $58.00. also at this time you should re-do the rubber in your booster since it has been exposed and saturated with brake fluid.I have no info on who re-builds the booster since I was lucky enough to have one of my Texas Opel member give me a booster that was in NEW condition.Good luck.
Also orderd all new gasket and seals.(M/C to boost, reservoir to M/C/ plus several more from OGTS at a cost of $28.00.
