i'm 95% sure its the master cylinder...happened to me too..I didnt think it was loosing fluid but it was sucking it into the brake booster... it slowly goes down when it does that. if its not a loose bleed valve or busted line, which would cause massive fluid loss, it would have to be the master cylinder...

i'd agree on master cylinder also. i know you moved from chicago, but i have a MC or two around here if i'm closer to you than dave, you can have it for postage as you've been more than fair in previous buys.

have someone push the brake pedel down and look into the fluid res if you see a movment in the fluid then the seals on the M/C piston are bipassing and as you know the pedle will just do nothing
easy fix though just a set of seals changed and bleed the system or take the opp and do a full fluid change as it should be done every 2 years anyway

The seals around the plunger are what I assessed as well. I ordered a rebuild kit from ogts, and then received many wonderful offers from members on the board here. That is what is so great about this community, people are always willing to give you what they have, in parts and knowledge, for the betterment of the Opel.
