Unanswered: Jetta brakes on a GT?

heres something interesting, my friends jetta had an unfortunate incedent over march break while he was in cuba with something cracking and making one of the front fenders collapse... i haven't seen it yet so i have no idea what thats supposed to mean, but its not going to be on the road anymore and hes getting rid of it and said i could have the brakes for free, just gotta take them off myself. so the question is how hard, if possible, would it be to convert jetta brakes to fit on an opel? its from a 94 jetta with front disks and rear drums, they stop the 2700 or 2800lb jetta pretty quick, at least a hell of alot quicker than my 2000lb tercel does, and its got new pads so they should stop the considerably lighter opel pretty good.
might be a long shot, but someone might know a good amount about both VW and Opel brakes, thanks
