hi my engine in my 1971 opel gt has a steal vavle cover and number on the engine block is 19s-1114207 is this a 1.9 or evan the right motor 3 speed auto trans help please

Welcome to the Opel Community.

The "19S" in the engine number tells us that it is a 1.9 litre motor.
However, GT motors usually have alloy rocker covers and the ones with steel covers come from Kadetts and Mantas etc.

Since Opels did not ever have "matching" engine and chassis numbers and their motors were all very similar, the motor you have is probably as good as any. There were two basic 1.9 litre motors - the early 1969-71 "Hi-compression" and the later 1971-74 "lo-compression" (or emission motor ... which was less powerful). If the Engine number has an asterix at each end, like this *19s XXXXXX* it was originally a high compression motor.

Greetings : I need some help identifying 2 brand new never used Opel motors that I have that were used in test stands for a company that made the test stands. The motors have only been spun with air and are likebrand new. They have been stored in my pole barn for years and I am now ready to part wth them. Have does a person decipher the markings on the engines? Is there a web address that I can go to and use? And where can I go to list these engines for sale.

Please advise.

If you can load up a couple of pictures of the motors and tell us their stamped engine numbers I am sure someone here will recognise them.
