head gasket
That is for an extra bolt hole head (two extra bolt holes for the bolts that go into the front cover) You can use it with some modifications, but if you don't have those holes in the front cover I would wait for the right gasket(JMTCW)

12-Bolt
That is a gasket for the later (mid '72 on) head and front cover with the two extra bolts that go into the front cover - you can see the different shape and two extra bolt holes at the bottom of the picture.
It can be used with an early head (10 bolt) on a late (12-bolt front cover without modification but for use with the earlier 10-bolt front cover a piece of 1/8" thick gasket material has to be used on top of the front cover area because that front cover is actually shorter than the 12-bolt one and not level with the top of the block. The gasket can be used with or without the two front bolts and with either 10 or 12-bolt heads - just fill the two holes in the gasket with a little RTV when the bolts are not used. HTH

Yes, there were just two U.S. engine displacements, (unlike Europe) but later 1.9 engines had the two extra holes and a fourth cam bearing. Jon's question is appropriate and GTJim's answer is perfectly correct, the wrong gasket is likely to leak. You'd know just by looking at it and it's right in the service manuals.

1.9 head gasket types
True, but the 1.9 was the only engine with two distinct head gaskets depending on year, early "10-bolt" and late "12-bolt" . . . heads were also distinguished by number of cam bearings, early "3-bearing" and late "4-bearing" . . .
As a point of interest perhaps, 1.9 head gaskets may be safely used for engine overbores up to 94.5mm - +1.5mm/.060" . . .
