Somewhere on this site, I posted how I used the original cannister clamp, modified it a bit and used a cannister off another car that was close to the original sized cannister. You can use the search button and find a whole bunch of info on how things are supposed to be on your GT.

Vapor (Carbon) Canister
Even though my 32/36 DGEV Weber had canister line connected to float vent connection, hole in my Weber was a blind hole. GT did pass the Calif. Smog, Visible Inspection, when inspection was required.
Aquarium supply house should have charcoal to load into the cannister if required. Canister (end) filter was available at AutoZone last time I needed one. http://www.opelgt.com/forums/group-6...nnections.html http://www.opelgt.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1134 Last edited by Lindsay; 08-16-2007 at 03:53 AM. |

Why do you want Emisions setup on your car it decreases your horsepower.I have a 1971 Opel Gt that had emission stuff on it i tore off if your interested, and the Solex isent the best way to go,it floods out around corners and dosent make the car perform very well, but you can put a Weber 32/36 on your motor which will make it perform way better,You can get at Opel GT Source --- Welcome here are some pics of mine,Maxx...

A charcoal cannister/evaporative emission controls won't lose you any hp, so you can put that fear to rest. In fact there is very little in the way of emissions controls on an Opel that hurts power, as long as it is working correctly.
