Unanswered: Piston Identification
Hi,
I finally took the head off of the engine from my parts car. You can still read the marks on the top of the piston. The numbers 0.75 are probably the over bore size. The cylinder measured roughly 3.690 with a dial caliper. Does anyone know what the rest of the numbers mean…I’m just curious? You can also see where the intakes have been hitting the tops of the pistons. The relief looks deep enough but not “big” enough. That’s the number four piston. Looks like something else smashed the top of that piston. |

Here is the “big” valve head. The intakes all have a shiny spot on them. It is a four bearing, hydraulic lifter head without the two front head to timing cover bolts.
You can see some other pictures in this thread… http://www.opelgt.com/forums/showthr...&threadid=1231 and this thread has was the same engine... http://www.opelgt.com/forums/showthr...&threadid=1461 Garry
