Unanswered: Will a Finned Aluminum oil pan fit on a GT?
My sons eyes lit up when he saw the oil pan and really wants it on the GT instead of the sheet metal one that came in the car. Can I use the finned aluminum oil pan on the GT? Are there any clearance issues with the GT crossmember? Thanks.

The finned pan fits just fine and is a desirable item. I have one on my gt. Just make sure you get the dipstick as well as it is different than the steel pan.
Also, since the dipstic for the steel pan goes through the block you will have to install a small plug in the dipstic hole in the block. The alum. pan has an integrated dip stick. Nathan Albuquerque New Mexico |

I was thinking I could have 2 dipsticks, just for fun. ~L I did get the tube, dipstick and everything else so I'm good to go. The block has a plug in it already in the front that looks just like a dipstick hole and it already has a plug. What's one more plug, right?

Don't forget the oil sump pickup tube as well. The one for the steel pans does not fit the aluminum pans.

And the associated tube support that fits on the main bearing cap.

Ah, yes, the pickup tube. I remember coming across that problem before. I have the tube and the mount for it. The mount is spot welded to the tube so there won't be a problem.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to install the pickup tube before torquing down the main bearings.
