It would be cheaper to install a later model OD trans.

Overdrive unit probably would not fit in a GT, but wonder if it would fit a Manta, 1900, etc.? GT drive shaft is already very short.

Got one of those in the motorhome, so now, instead of an automatic 4-speed tranny, I have an 8-speed semi-automatic tranny. A couple of notes on the unit, it cannot be used to decellerate. That would eat the clutch pack after a while. The unit is capable of handling over 1000 HP and full throttle up shifting. In the motorhome, during full throttle, 1st gear acceleration, at 20 MPH the unit will up shift and the whole motorhome will shudder from the instantaneous engagement of the unit. An awesome feeling, and with 2 overdrive gears, we figure to have paid the unit off after about 10,000 miles of travel.
