Well the brake reservoir cap is actually already 2 caps, so that *could* be easily done.

With the valve cover cap, if you go the route of simply capping the cap, then you should be able to fit another 1/8" of metal on top of it. I little bit of measurement and a whole lot of epoxy and Bobs your uncle!

Just a quick question. I haven't removed my shift knob yet, but I would like to know what the Inside Diameter of the hole in the knob should be in order to assure a snug fit.

An exact measurement of the rod would be nice, but at the very least a fractional drill bit size would be helpful.

Anyone?

My friend up at RPI said that he would lathe out a 'smooth' version of the shift knob that I designed, I just need the ID for the shaft that inserts into the knob.

with the knurls, it looks like 11.5mm

Thanks Gene. (One more favor, feel free to say no. Could you measure at the top and bottom of the tapered 'knurls'. I figure if I have a lathe, why not try out a tapered hole?)

It's not tapered, it's the same measurement at the top and bottom of the knurled area.

Oh, ok. I had read somewhere on the forums that it was tapered.

Well that just makes it easier!

So expect to see a 'smooth' version of the the knob that I designed in a week or two!
