gearbox oil low, where does it go?

can't find the exact place to fill the gear box w/fluid (80 weight all purpose) according to the previous post. They never specifically said "x" bolt or "right here". I cant find this in the FSM either. Can someone help me? I can hear gears big time and I'm afraid my box is low on fluid. Its my only car this week and I gotta drive to work in the a.m! Thanks!!!.

There is a plug on the drivers side of the gear box about 2 inches above the bottom and about 6 inches back of the bell housing. Remove the plug and add enough gear oil until it begins to drip back out.

I hope you don't have to go far with it. Sounds like from your description, your transmission may need replacement or overhaul.

Thanks a lot for the help! I figured it out, Although I wish I had this photo and both comments yesterday afternoon. This will no doubt be helpful for people in the future. I had to run a make-shift hose down through the boot and drizzle gear oil through since I didn't have a pump. Messy, but it seemed to work well. I just hope significant damage wasn't done. Thanks again for the assistance.
