Unanswered: Windshield eyebrow (?)

Not sure what it's officially called, but does anyone know where to find the custom fit tinted strip that goes along the top of the windshield on a GT. I had one on my 71 GT and my 73 Manta back in the 70s. Below is the link to a pic of the one on my old Manta.

Any help appreciated.

Mike

I remember those in the 70's -80's. Just go to a tint shop, or window sign company. They can make you one.

I have one on my windsheild, I don't much care for it. I think it says Opel GT on it (the whindsheild is out of the car and hidden somewhere). If it can be taken off do you want it?

Thanks for the offer, but the type I'm looking for is more permanent....like the tint on the windows...and won't peel off for re-use.

Ill probably just go have one made.

I found one from this guy on Ebay http://stores.ebay.com/Ballz-Vinyl. If that doesn't bring up his store, his seller id is ballz4311. Hth, Jarrell

if you're just looking to get the top few inches tinted then any tint shop can do it, the tint just comes on a big roll and the cut it to fit every car

Autozone or any chain has em

There are two distinct kinds. One is more or less an static cling type and can be removed and re-applied. The other is adhesive. They come in rolled strips that are 6 inches or so witde and 6 feet long and you have to trim to shape. Trimming instructions are included.

Both look the same although the static cling kinds seem to have more variety - patterns, logos, opaque, perforated, ....

I have a static cling type that is perforated opaqe with hawaiian flowers along it (currently on the car) and a 'limo black' one as well (a bit more stealth looking).

The most important thing when applying any window film is to immacuately clean the window and remove all dust.

Watch Ebay for the seller I spoke of. That's what it looks like. Write or ask him when he might have some more OPEL logos made up. I have one on my Manta as in the picture you showed. But I purchased and installed it around 1977. Can't remember where or who it came from. Jarrell
