Instrument Panel
Just a suggestion. Because there are fewer and fewer instrument panels that are in pristine shape, if yours has not been cut to fit a larger radio unit into it, you may wish to find one that has. I would be happy to supply you with one that has already been modified to whatever size opening you need, to save another one for a possible restoration. I just thought that you may wish to think about that before getting out the old coping saw (been there, done that). They are getting harder and harder to find.

Stock GT Radio ... Still
Project List too long to improve GT Radio to Stereo. So ... still driving with (disappointing) Stock Radio. Usually, I just listen to the engine or the loud car next to me in traffic.

Didn't want to start a new thread but going through my parts the other day I came across a stock radio in my parts. I noticed one thing, it actually has Opel GT written on it all the other radios I have read Kadette on them. I talking about the glass cover the lets you view the stations as you manually tune stations in. I have one late built 68 model GT (titled as 69) and was thinking that this may very well belong to it. Is it rare to have an original Opel GT radio or have all the other cars I've have owned in the past (about 15 now) just had the radios changed out in them.

Stock Radio
These turn up on EBay fromtime to time but do not fetch very big prices as they are AM only and do not recieve the later FM stations (if I got that the right way around!). Figure $25 - $50 for a good going one.
The early GTs had radios with 'Kadett' printed on the face as Opel just fitted the same radio to both cars - later on the 'GT' appeared on the face. |

I assumed (we all know what that means) since I just had the one that it was an early model before the company started to throw together the leftovers in the later years before giving up on production. So this is more than lkely a a 73 model actual radio?
