You can take the car to a Dealer and they can unlock the radio and then you input your own code ( to be able to unlock if battery goes out ) . You will need to prove ownership , they should unlock the radio at no charge ( as a customer service ) . Good luck . HTH

Do a search on the internet there are several sites that will charge a fee to retrieve your code. They will need the serial number for your radio. I was lucky when I pulled my radio someone had written the code on the top of the radio. Each time you loose power to the radio you will have to re-enter the code. If you enter the wrong code more than three times it won't accept the correct code until the radio has been "on" approx. an hour.

Not likely - GM's Policy is to charge heavily for this "service" to deter radio thieves. Here they will not reset a radio unless it is installed in the original car - or they sell the replacement radio. They charge $150 for the reset "service".
You get 10 trys at correctly inputting the four digit code and each time the code is incorrect it takes longer and longer before you can retry till after 10 trys the radio must be reset by the Dealer. Pain in the Butt as it needs to be input each time the battery is disconnected.

However it is possible to have the Dealer clear the code altogether and run it without a code.

Toss out the original radio and replace it with a high end new unit ... and demand that the seller instal it without any of this code nonsense !!

jim the vectra radio is connected to steering wheel imputs for channel and vol which is why most folks try to leave it in and an auto traffic update service in europe

mine was chopped out when i got it and it took me ages to work out everything to just get it working with a radio/tape player with cd changer

Doesn't sound like much of an option especially after what Baz said.

oh it can be done but you need a multi meter and some extension leads to do it , i took all the speakers out (was changing them anyway they are rubbish) and used the meter to find them back at the bundle (i have to do this normaly as i am colour blind and dont trust my eyes to tell me ) once the speaker wires were labled i could hunt out a switched and perminent live and an earth then wire my unit in

didnt smoke or anything just played music , well the front ones did the rear ones have some issues and dont appear to want to talk to the head unit
