1 - Use the search engine! If you did, you'd find a lot of the stuff you're looking for. There's a nice article on the OANA site. Check it out: http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=oana
It's under Tech Info near the bottom as "Opel GT Model Year Recognition Chart" 2 - Capital letters are for the begining of a sentence or a proper noun, not for every word in a sentence. It makes your posts difficult to read. It's hard to tell one sentence from another.

This is getting way off topic, but, here's my take on the current discussion. We do get new folks in here that don't know the protocol and ask questions they don't know the answer to, or they need help with their car's problems. Us old heads have seen and answered most questions a bunch of times and it sometimes rubs us the wrong way. Gary tried to get the newbies to check out the introductory post so folks would use the search engine, but some see it, others don't. So we, as a friendly community, need to take all that into consideration. I would suggest, welcome the new member, answer the question, and direct them to the search engine for more expertise and thoughts on their problem/question. Very few of us have all the answers, if any, and more thoughts or suggestion can't hurt. Of course it would help if we told them there are probably more posts/threads on the subject than they would ever need, and possibly a few hours reading would give them more info than they thought possible.
O.K., now back on the original topic. Basicly the GT maintained the same body style with the exception noted about the rear panel. Minor changes in the electrical system, notably the headlight wiring. Instrument panel indicator lites were changed, roughly between 69 and 70 model years. The biggest change was in the engine, early years had the 1.1L twin carbed engine, then the 1.9 high compression, and from about 72 on, the 1.9L low compression engines. That's just about all the changes off the top of my head. There could be others I've forgotten, and the links to other sites may reveal them. HTH. |
