If you mean the light gray square decal that was used in the bottom center of the rear window, yes it was used on the European cars as well, not only on the GT's but on every other model as well. I don't know when Opel stoped using the decals
Hello,
can anybody tell me if the GM"" logo which is situated behind the rear window on '69 GT's is also a standard feature on European GT's or that they are only mounted on US cars? Since I own an early 69 European GT without the logo I want to know if I have to look for such a logo to complete my car.

The picture of the decal/emblem from BQS4 is the one I mean. Since 69 European GT's (according to 2 fast 4 u) originally come with the decal, I must have such a decal to complete the car (even if some of you think it looks terrible). I've seen one on Ebay and I've already placed a bid.
That GM emblem only belongs on '68, '69 & '70 model year U.S. market GT's.
I've never seen the emblem on a Euro market GT. I happen to own two '69's one a US market with GM emblem, the other an Italian market GT without the emblem. The book "Opel GT Projekt 1484" also confirms the GM emblem as peculiar to '69 & '70 GT's.
I would guess that Buick wanted to reassure us Americans that the Opel GT was backed by "the General". I believe I've also seen the GM "Mark of Excellence" on Kadetts in the U.S.A. In fact it has been a common fixture on many GM vehicles over the years.

There are two types of these logo badges. One is a stick on and one has pegs that insert in two holes below the rear window of the GT. The one with the pegs is the one that belongs on the GT, if you don't have the holes there then they have been filled in or the car never came with the badge. The stick on badges were on other models, not GT's.
The one I have pictured has the pins on the back and they are both intact.
PCEJE, why bid, I and a few others here are willing to send you one.

In addition to the 2 pegged GM decal (on the rear panel below the window) is that my USA 1969 Opel GT has GM labeled seat belt buckles. I can not recall any other GM markings on my GT.
