You'll have to look at the first number on your VIN-tag of the colorcode (before 451) to find out it's original color. It can only be 529 (ziegelrot), 236 (Le Mans Blue - RARE), 411 (Ocker) or 446 (Citrus Gelb).

Looking better at the pictures, it seems that somebody in the past tried to let the GT/J look like a "normal"GT which was common 30 years ago. That's why GT/J's in their original state are so rare. All the chrome has to go, also around the taillights the rims should be black. I also noticed that your back bumpers are mounted on the backpanel without the spacers.
I think I know what you are going to do the next months I hope it's gona be a great project for you.
Good luck and remember keep having fun.

The car is now relieved of all bits and pieces that are bolted, and suspended in a crib or roto/rollo or something, not sure what it's called in english

It seems that the amateur of all amateurs has been let loose on this car, and he has to be close to world champion in bad welding, nails and surfacer(?), wich is half an inch thick some places...and I've barely just begun to remove the paint.

And my question today: is the lower part of the front (where the grille is) supposed to be fiberglass? I doubt it....

Sorry for my poor english.

Simple answer: NO, 100% pure French steel.

p.s I once owned a GT like yours, so maybe there are two world champions in bad car repairing, one in Norway and one in Holland.

The belly pan was steel from the Factory, but they are commonly damaged beyond repair or simply rust away due to leaks from the battery. Steel replacement belly pans are simply unavailable, but fiberglass replacements are available that are very serviceable if properly installed and not abused (they are more prone to breaking than the steel versions)

Steel replacements are available, but rather expensive.
