Question A+l ????????

Hi everyone. I recently read an article I found on the net about an Opel being a "rare A+L" Does this make any sense? My tag under the hood says this but it said the same thing for a real nightmare I saw in a garage here in B.C.

RallyBob will become famous soon enough
All North American Opel GT's are GT/AL's, only overseas did they have the 'option' of a lower-cost GT/J (Junior), which was a stripper model designed to appeal to the youth of the day. It had the 1.9 with 4-speed, but had all black trim and some black side stripes, so it was sportier in appearance. It was missing some of the niceties of the GT/AL such as the full instrumentation, carpeting, locking gas cap, trim rings on the wheels, etc.
