GT with AT & Air

I just bought a 73 GT with Air and auto trans. There are a couple of items that are different from the other GT's I've had. There is a starter button on the center console, in front of the shifter and there is a access panel for the battery in the belly pan. Are they factory original? They are very well done if not.

Gary will become famous soon enough
The started button is probably there because of a bad ingition switch. The full current needed for the solenoid goes through the switch and frys it over time.

I believe the access panel is for the AC system.

Can you get pics of the escape hatch (access panel)? I've never seen one before. Maybe it's to let the monkey out?

It's my understanding the access panel was installed to be able to change the battery on a/c GTs.
