And Flared trouser, Dunlop Green Flash trainers and hairy band-dito mostaches.........OMG I'm becoming my DAD

Personally I think it'll be just awesome to turn up at some of the events with a ski-rack and skis attached.....especially in the height of summer, lol.

Also being really practical, considering what a practical car the GT is, the Ski-rack is far nicer because there's no drilling the body-work, so if the price is right I may just have to get one...or ten!

Perhaps along the same lines, does anyone still have an Alluminum rear window louver for a GT? I think JC Whitney used to sell them. The other guy with a GT in my college had one and it looked great.

While stationed in Orlando, FL in the Navy I drove my car around with a pair of snow shoes on the roof rack through the whole summer. Added a "got snow" bumper sticker and silently protested being trapped in the heat.

Stumbled upon one of those NOS recently - it is made up of parts cut out of sheet alloy and each louvre bent up to fit the rear screen. That what you mean?

Jim;
I wonder if he's referring to the old louvers that C&R used to sell?

Thumbs up Ski Rack

Hello Mark,

The GT fan who is selling it, and I don't know if he is building it or not, is the secretary of the Belgian Opel GT Club. I know they sold one to the secretary of the Dutch club too. E-mail address is belgianopelgt"at"hotmail.com. His car is the blue one that I posted on the forum.

You can send him an e-mail with my best regards, his name is Ludo.

Pierre

Pierre,

I think I'd better email him before the rest of the world does. I went to Belguim a couple of years back for the Euro meet, which featured the AWESOME Conrero diplay......the Chairman of UK Clubs immaculate car shared pride of place with Maurice van Severcote's restoration car. We got really friendly with loads of the guys there and it has to be said I seemed to feature in the show video several times.......obviously they'd never seen dancing like it before

Belgium

Do you know what ? I bought Maurice Van Sevecotte's blue GT...
The Conrero is still in the same shape, but Maurice is buying original parts, the one after the other, and one day he will have two Conrero's : the original one, completely restored, and a copy which will be used to drive on normal roads...
I hope we will see you on the Continent one of these days ...
And by the way, the red GT with the ski rack ... The owner is living in Sheffield UK ... Maybe you can come with him next time we have an activity in France or Belgium !
Pierre

Wow......what a small world.

Do you have any idea how Maurice is doing, I always remember that he was building a new house and I'm sure the stipulation was for the worlds biggest garage to house his GT projects.....and Conrero memorabilia!

As for the chap in Sheffield.....well I've not meet Phillippe yet, but Martyn our club chairman has and I think Phillippe spent a good few hours in Martyns garage when he heard that he had the only 'running' Conrero!!

I Phillipe is able to help me with a ski-rack then I will happily bring my baby over for another Euro meet.....the only question is which one do I bring out of the garage.......the ex DOT owned 2.4 beastie or the Parsget Mirage kitted GT?

I know we've gone off track, but basically I still need one of the ski-racks......so dad if your reading this please feel free to bid on the German one and wrap it up for Christmas......or I'll be bidding against you

Mark,
Maurice's father just passed away ... just after Maurice's house has been finished. They worked a lot together on it. So, Maurice he is not very well right now.
But many rooms available for the GT's indeed !
Philippe is a close GT friend, and yes he can help you for the rack since he bought one himself.
Looking forward to see you soon,
Pierre

Pierre,

If you should speak to Maurice please pass on my sincere condolences from both myself and Martyn (Uk Club Chairman).

I certainly look forward to seeing you............... if only Ludo or Philippe would get back to me regarding getting my hands on one of those racks, looks like you might have to help me here
