Question Hood (Bonnet) Hinge location

Having owned 6 GT's so far I guess I'm one of the lucky owners that's never had to carry out a restoration / rebuild..........but all that could soon change, it all depends on possibly the answer to this one question.

Yesterday I took a 200mile round trip to look at a GT that's sat in the same garage for 15years It has to be said that the car, originally a US model has undergone some serious work in the past and the body looks fantastic, i needs the odd bit of paint, but is far from complete. I can over come this as I have recently broken a car but the real questions for the future of the car revolves around the hood hinge, so here goes.

Having looked inside the nose cone I can see two holes where the hinge would attach but I always thought this part was fitted to the car in production, otherwise I have no idea how to fit the hinge mechanism, is it possible without having to cut the upper nose cone panel out. If it's possible I may buy the car otherwise I may have to offer it to someone else.

As always any help is greatly appreciated.
