Don't forget that if you want to view this program, it is most considerate to site administrators to right click on the link and select "Save Target As.."

    This saves everybody bandwidth.

The red one was a "tuned" GT-J. It looked lowered as well.

The yellow one was a collector, appearing to be brought from the US.

Here is the German comment of the video.
I would not like to do the translation through Babel Fish
Perhaps someone can translate it here into English :

Man

Here it is via Babel Fish:

Recent customers in the visor today are the GT von Guenter wolf a pure leisure car. Before 20 years however ging's with the OPEL too secondly over the alps until Italy. Bepackt with tent equipment and luftmatratzen surely an adventure. But the GT shows up as true space miracle - presupposed, also the smallest cavity is used for the luggage. To the emergency there were also einenen porters, but that was screwed rarely on the roof. "Nur flies is schoener!" This in the meantime winged word is at that time the advertising slogan for the GT, almost reisserische for conditions. Also in the television commercial OPEL a new way goes and shows clearly, for which clientele the schnittigen bodies are meant. The GT belongs to the youth - record and cadet drivers must remain outside. Guenter wolf possesses still another second GT. With only 30,000 miles on the Tacho the RH import from the USA is a genuine luck grasp. The dry climate of California conserved the car proper. New lacquer? Nil return! This GT is completely unrestauriert! Therefore Guenter wolf leaves it untouched dearest also in the garage - a scratch, and the original state would be. Problems with the OPEL GT Guenter wolf: "Ich this car possesses now already 16 years. If this car bought in the states, and stop ships to Germany brought and also in Hamburg fetched. This car is somewhat completely special for me. Did not drive I with this car up to now approximately four thousand miles, more. Only to the meeting or as exhibit times verliehen." The only 1 meter 22 high GT nevertheless weighs 940 Kilos. It accelerates in 11.5 seconds of zero on one hundred. Owing to Bestzustand from California Guenter wolf with its Oldie has hardly problems. Guenter wolf: "Wir have here a GT year of construction 72, which is absolutely perfect, as one sees, but who one not in principle when yardstick can take, to the vehicles probably still in Germany or otherwise where to run. Of the mechanics gibt's at the GT of fewer problems. Problems of gibt's rather here within the range because of rust at the fender and at the lower air deflector panel, where the batteries were not yet maintenance-free and over-cooked always and the gases zerfressen there here the whole sheet metals. Then we have floor plate connection, Schweller up to the axle supension here in the frame area. Rust gibt's also at the tail range - final sheet metal inside, final sheet metal outside and the entire tail range is very much rostanfaellig." The chassis of the GT originates from the b-cadet, is however substantially more tautly co-ordinated. The engine installed behind the front axle provides for an optimal weight distribution. Until today singularly: the extravagante folding mechanism of the headlights with turn around the own axle. The GT junior appears 1971. Registration number: The flat black bumper. Typically for the American version: The throttled engine. The end of the GT Guenter wolf: "Der engine carries 78 HP out here, opposite which where we had German model 90 HP. That was changed in the compression and in the distributor, because in America the fuel is worse than here and no lead hat." To the basic equipment bowl seat belongs, and the tiny stowage box in the tail. For a sports car rather untypisch: The narrow lap belt. No standard is motorizing GET down the car. Guenter wolf: "Das a 2,4-Liter-Motor with two 50's-weber carburetors and programmable firing angle adjustment is where we an achievement reaches from approx.. 200 PS." For so much achievement the GT is however not laid out. So that the TUEV gives its benediction to the change, Guenter wolf welds a ueberrollkaefig. It makes the cars torsionally stiff and tuev suited. With appearance OPEL for the GT requires approximately 12 thousand Marks - 3500 Marks more than for the record. Guenter wolf: "Wenn one it once has and it is intact the car, then man's with little money can hold. Purchase price for a good car is relatively favorable. One receives such a car for 10 thousand euro - a very good Auto." 1973 ensures in the USA new safety standards and stricter exhaust regulations for the fact that the GT may not be sold so any longer. The main market breaks away. OPEL decides against the advancement and resets production after only five years.

    Fantastic clip

Only thing I noticed was that the GT/J didn't have it's original fuel cap on

Just goes to show the difference between a lowered GT and factory height.....no wonder I had back ache the first time I polished mine.

Hopefully within the next 2 weeks I should be on tv, on ITV's 'Everything Must Go' over here in the UK. I'll try and load it up but it could prove entertaining.

Well there was other things too about the GT/J that were not stock. 5-spd trans, ATS wheels, single exhaust tip, full instruments, leather wheel, dual side drafts, roll bar...etc.

Those things were far too obvious for me to comment but well spotted, did the car also have a carpet and not the pimpled rubber matting that a J also had. I did notice that he had the correct cigar lighter blanking plate in place.

Baz, after e-mailing them the other day they have said that it'll either be the 4th or 11th of Nov...depending on......can you beleive it the US elections I hope the winner is worth it.

I think the program is broadcast about 3 or 3.30pm, but I never watch it and I don't even have a video recorder. To be honest I'm looking forward to seeingt the GT on TV but not myself especially as the presenter is one of those cheezy characters.
