how rare is an automatic trans in a 72 Opel GT?

Anyone know production figures, and current existing cars, for automatic transmission 1972 Opel GTs? Thanks in advance.

I cant say I know exact numbers for you. Hemmings.com has an opel area that has a year by year fact sheet though. I think the download is even on here somewhere. IMHO I would say that yes, manuals are by far more common, but I wouldn't call an auto trans *rare*... unusal I guess is more what I'd say.

I wouldn't think they were to rare. That is what my 72 Opel was before I stripped her down and I knew of others that had automatics.
