What did the Original Wheels/Rim look like?

On my ’73 Opel GT my wheels are black with yellow paint on the four main spokes of the rim. This was painted by hand and looks shabby. They also have a little Opel center hub cover. I am getting ready to have the car repainted and wanted to make it look right.

Thanks

Parker

Parker:
This is a link to a pic of my '73 - all original ........ not a close-up, however.
There must be a good shot in the galleries somewhere.

Wow, that is a nice stock GT you have there .

Here is a link to another picture of stock '73 wheels.

http://www.opelgtsource.com/pictures...age=wheels.htm Click on the year you want to see. It defaults to the '69/'70 style.

This is on the OGTS website.

If they are original from a GT, they will be stamped GT in the black section of the rim, near the slots. Otherwise, they were taken from a Manta or Ascona(1900)

I should have added that I have the chrome "beauty rings" on my wheels.
So mine does not appear correctly "stock".

I had the chrome beauty rings on my wheels when my car was imported about 15 Years ago - see the orange picture on the bottom of the link.

Yes, the pre-73 GT's had chrome beauty rings. But I believe the Rostyle-style steel mags in the '73 GT (and '73 to '75 Manta/Ascona) did not come from the factory with the chrome rings.

By the way, that GT with the vinyl roof (which was NOT from the factory, by the way) looks a lot like a photo of a car that used to be owned by Charles Goin. Not the same car, per chance?

I looked at the pictures in the dealer brochure from '73 and they don't show beauty rings on the GT. It may of been an option because they show them in the option list, but this brochure covered the Manta/Ascona/ Sportwagon/ and the GT. The '72 brochure shows the rings on the GT with the raylle style rims.

The Car was imported from california to Germany in 1983 - since then it is waiting in my Garage to be finished.
The vinyl roof was only option for US cars, but it came from the factory - it is very rare and collectors of oldtimers in original condition would probably kill me but I just didn´t like it.
