It is incredible what you can find on eBay! Good work Duane.

Now let's all bid to see how high Jonzo will go!

Hi Jonzo,
I was debating if I should volenteer it, as it would be quite a bit of work and I don't know when I could do it, but here goes.

I have a 70 GT with a worn tan interior. I don't really like the tan, and would rather it be black. If I could have some help finding black pieces to replace the ones I have, you can have the tan ones. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you pictures before making a final decision.

The interior is well worn and dirty, so it may not be worth it. Also, I am 99% sure my interior is stock, and the dashpad and console pcs are black. You mentioned looking for a tan dashpad, but I *think* that the correct mix with the tan interior is a black dashpad. Others here will know better than I.

[quote=opelgt73]Does anyone know if these were stock or a dealer add-on to meet specific regulations? They seem to protrude a little far for factory lights. I have thought about adding some lights in that area as I always liked the way they looked on late model Audi/VW's

My 2.4 GT started out life as an Italian car and I can confirm the lights on the front wings are specifically for the Italian market only.

If I can help with sourcing any parts from this side of the pond let me know. There's a good parts network in the UK plus I have access to parts in Europe as my old man lives in Germany.

Hi Mark,
The blinkers on the fender is an original opel part. Here in Norway they used the same on the Ascona B as well. We got regulations stating that the turn signal must be visible from the side of the car

"fanali laterali" is Italian for side markers

Thanks for the tips everyone.
I will post a bid for the "fanali laterali" offered on e-bay.
Be warned, however, that if you should bid, you might have to buy!
But seriously, I do appreciate you guys being on the lookout for these side markers. I didn't think they could be located so fast.
Now let's see if I can afford them.

Fanali Laterali have been aquired!

I won this pair of side marker covers that I needed for my Italian spec Opel GT (a.k.a. Sophia) off of E-bay this past weekend. Got them for 1 GBP plus 4.5 GBP shipping from Thurso, U.K. to Tampa, FL U.S.A. That's comes to less than $10 bucks, so if this ain't the rarest of Opel GT parts it certainly is among the cheapest.
Many thanks to Duane (MantAscona) for bringing the E-Bay auction to my attention, and thanks to everyone else for not bidding! Next item on my list is a pair of curved clear blinkers (the ones above the front bumpers on the fenders), One of mine is chipped (passenger side).
I saw a pair on German E-Bay last month, but I held back from purchasing them as I my bank account was still recovering from the purchase of Sophia earlier that month.
I'm busy getting my workshop re-configured as the reality version of Jonzo's Garage. It measures about 24' by 30' and houses all my growing inventory of restoration equipment plus four GT's, so practical working space is starting to get critical. Don't get too envious, they all need to be restored!
As I'm sure we all know by now, getting the GT is the easy part. Getting them back to excellent condition is the real challenge!

Congratulations Jonzo on the purchase. That is amazing. I think you found a needed part that was so rare, no one else wanted it!

the amber fender ligths were law in a couple of european countries and special oversea clusters (very small markets like Indonesia,etc..).
It was not an option only for the italien market.
But because over 90% were built with "USA" or "Germany" specs, these ligths are not very commen.
Attached a pic of my 69 GT, imported from Italy a couple of years ago.
