But as I read the numbering sequence, it appears to falls within the 69 model year. |

I don't know what all a proper drivetrain swap would be but it would be a pain in the behind.
Front crossmember or at least the spring Brakes Transmission and probably the crossmember Rear differential along with the driveshaft That's just what comes to mind and I'm sure there is plenty more. Too much hassle for most people. Harold |

For both 69 and 70 the model designation of 93 only means it's a GT. The motor type was never in the serial number on those years, neither was tranny type. I think the info of a single carb of some variation says it all.
Anybody ever heard of a single on a 1.1 except that rare ssd setup? |

easy way to settle this before we get into the whole chassis /engine numbers debate
does the carb manifold go into the top of the head (1.1 in photo ) or the side of the head (1.9 as in this link http://www.opelgt.com/photos/showpho...0/ppuser/19166) ?? Last edited by baz; 01-21-2006 at 06:55 AM.. |

As to the carb situation someone could have had problems with the duals and had access to a Kadett with a 1.1 and used the single carb from it. Not trying to start an argument on the models but it goes against all that I've read. I will wait until daylight but I'm sure I have at least one '70 GT and will check the model designation. I'm positive that the serial # starts with 94. Harold |

baz,
I'm like a hog in mud! 1970 started with 93 (1.1 motor) or 94 (1.9 motor) at 93-1892645 or 94-1888818 Re-read the quote that states the model 93 only means that it is a GT. That is what I was referring to. If I'm wrong maybe I just got up too early on my day off. Harold |
