Extreme Frugality. But, I don't see an Opel. And, I know there has to be an example or two or stuff that Opel owners have improvised.

It wasn't an Opel, but, a 79 Honda Accord. Toasted the main fuse when the a/c power cable grounded against the frame. Got going by replacing the main fuse with the old pull off tabs from a beer can. Don't laugh, it worked, got the correct "fuse" next day, and threw the pull tab in the glove box for possible future use
