    Looking for a Rallye Kadett

    Hi.
Im new to this forum but not to Opels.
I grew up with the little cars in by blood. My father sold Buicks & Opels back in the 60's and 70's and always brought them home. It was the first car I learned to drive in.
A few years ago I found a 66 Kadett L coupe - red/red interior, 4 spd. A twin to one I spent a lot of time in back at 15/16 yrs old. Lots of memories came back driving this car. Its in great shape, could use a repaint but overall pretty nice.
My Kadett is sitting in storage now but.....one of these days I've gotta dig it out.
I am really interested in finding a Rallye Kadett. Anyone have a lead on one?
    Thank you for any help.
    I enjoy the conversations here.
    Thanks.

About 5 years ago I began looking for a rallye kadett since I had one in college, my first car. It was a 68 rallye kadett in Regal Gold. Looked and looked but couldnt find one. So finally I bought a GT and then another GT. Passed on an opportunity to buy one from California from a well known Opeler for about 3500. Finally bought one from Nebraska which had been stored in a barn for 20 years. I am now restoring it and although it was originally yellow and a '69, I will paint in Regal Gold and hope to have it done next year at this time. Good luck, there are few and far between.

. . . aah, now I understand why you have that rare heated primary idle hookup on your Solex, Tom, gets mighty cold up there in Winter . . . about 11 months out of the year, so I hear!

fitzo1969 . . . since you already own that "litlle red Kadett", locating the pieces to turn it into a "pseudo" Rallye will be MUCH easier than finding an actual one as Tom has stated already! The fun driving it will be exactly the same, whether "actual" or "converted!"

    ralley

Hi, I was on craigslist.com in the washington ; Spokane section and found a 69 ralley for $100. It has been on there for a while. Claims to have a redone motor at time of purchase but new owner could not make it run so it sat. It looks dirty or maybe mossy but appears to be all there. Good luck. Oh, there is a kid trying to sell a 72? that looks nice for $900 on same site but in Oregon/Bend. He has dropped his price quite alot. Needs money for school. I think his is a Manta.

Actually Otto, the 69 rallye isnt the one with the throttle heater plumbed. It is the 67 kadett wagon which came out of Indiana, which may be nearly as cold though!

    They are 'OUT THERE'

Found this setting in a little old ladies backyard on blocks, it was her husband's. When he passed away he gave it to his grand daughter, well it has been sitting perched waiting for an OPEL ADDICT to come along since 1981. I can't help myself . I see an Opel just sitting there wasting away, I have to have it. So for some money I bought it, a 1968 1.9 Kadett Rallye. Pulled her on the trailer and brought her home. And she is all there but the keys.
But 'Goldie' will have to wait in line a while before she gets reborn.
There are 9 GT's (ranging from 69 to 72), a 73 Manta Rallye, 68 Kadett Sedan (Rallye 1.1RS transplant), a 71 Kadett Sedan 1.1 or 1.9 what ever it ends up with, a 75 Ascona and then there are the clients cars, a 72 GT and 67 1/2 Kadett LS(full restoration with 1.1/40mm Solex sd), and another 72 GT and one more GT waiting in line.
But there is such a thing as going to the head of the cl(ollection)ass. Who knows, but the Killer Texas GT is in dire needs too.
