    Information is available

You just have to do some online research, to find answers to the questions you ask. Use the "search" function on this site, and plan to spend a lot of time reading. Another link, is the "Things to know" article, here:

    GT "Things to Know"

    Regarding the specifics:

Opel retail sellers in the US (just google: opel gt parts to find them) offer new replacement emblems, engine gasket kits, cams, oversized pistons, lifters, and fiberglass body kits (and new door panels may be available soon).

Try to keep your focus, by approaching only one group of components at a time. See if you can get the car running, then able to drive on the road (work on brakes, gas tank vent lines, headlight rewiring), then only after making the car safe consider other cosmetic improvements.

Contact Opel parts sellers and get copies of their catalogs. Before making any large purchases, inquire here about a seller's knowledge, honesty, shipping speed, and general reputations (which can vary widely).

I can tell you from experience that your dashes can be made like new, but the cost is high. Somewhere around $650 plus shipping. Here's a link to the company that does them: Welcome To Just Dashes

Ron, it's up around a grand now with shipping. And any repairs or custom colors will take you over that.

Welcome to the site. The interior stuff can all be had using a combination of Opel GT Source (OGTS) (such as a complete set of new carpeting) and contacting some members here that sell stuff directly or on eBay (such as CIARA1970 who reconditions center consoles, door panels, etc.). As for the dash pad, I went a less epensive route and used the OGTS dash cap. There is a thread here that covers the restoration of my GT. Check out the last photo in this post and the last photo in this post to get an idea of what the OGTS dash cap looks like. Also, if you skim through that entire thread, you will come across several posts that highlight many of the parts available from OGTS (both mechanical and cosmetic).

    Good Luck!

I'm sure glad I did mine when I did. I can't believe it's gone up that much in a couple three years. Ouch.

Right now, I have the original door panels installed. However, I do have rear panels, kick panels, and a center console installed all of which Lyndon (CIARA1970) did. In addition, I have seen the door panels and they are very nice. I would recommend going with anything that Lyndon reconditions - great quality!
