70 Gt
Had a long weekend. drove to Louisville Ky. to look at it. About 800 miles round trip. Was going to tow it home. but U-haul would not rent me a tow dollie. Said my truck was to lite. (98 gmc sonoma) and my wife would not drive my truck home.(afraid she would get lost.) had to have it transported. hope it will be home this week. The GT will need a little work. But a great winter project. Joe

Welcome aboard Joe. Looks to be a real good start for a new Opeler. Please do a search for things to do on a "new Opel", they have been addressed many times and if followed will save you some grief later on. Having a toggle switch to operate the lights usually indicates a stuck or maladjusted microswitch in the left headlight bucket, or a bad headlight relay. To find which it is, just trace the wires from the switch and see where they go. Then let us know and we can do a quasi diagnosis for you. There is a schematic available on the site that will help with most wiring problems, if the dreaded PO hasn't done major rewiring. Bu7t for a more comprehensive schematic, I would advise gettig a DESTEC schematic from J. J. Wheatley, a member on the site. Also contact Otto aka Tekenaar for one of his "Otto Start" systems, to keep your ignition switch alive and well. HTH.

Congratulations!!! That's a sweet looking GT. It doesn't seem like it will take a ton of work to get it on the road. How's the motor? Have you driven it yet? You're going to have a nice cruisin' machine there.. Looking forward to more photos!
