Hello all!

I am a new member only here to give some insight to Frank Lundholm's begining adventures with Opels. I was simply just looking for his phone number, as I lost it in the last move, so just did a simple Google search only to find out that apparently he really got into this stuff for a while. We were good friends and I was his roommate who rented his mother's house with Frank and his brother. I knew Frank Sr. and helped provide them with Opel parts when I worked for a car dealership that still had alot of old Opel stock long after they stopped dealing with Opels. I provided parts to both of them as well as some Fiat parts as we were a long time Fiat dealer as well. This was when Frank was about 17. I have many stories about the first kadett he rebuilt, customized, won a trophy at The World of Wheels, and then totaled, as well as some other humorous stories about the other stuff we used to do with old cars. If anyone is interested, I will be glad to tell how he built the first one and the story behind it. It's been a few years since I talked to Frank or his father, but I moved, changed careers, and like everyone else lost contact. I expect to be in touch with him soon as I know where he lives. I only got in this forum because I saw some posts about him, and I know all the beginning stuff, as well as some old sources for parts if they still exist. ..................Eightrak

Welcome to the site. Hope you find your friend, I'm sure you saw the thread where RallyeBob said he's out of the Opel scene years ago. I never had the pleasure, but if you're into old Opels, this is the place to be, so dive in.

Jim

Okay, a little mix up on the story, but some is correct. Frank Jr, my father, did have some Kadetts. He did total one, but never showed it at a World of Wheels. He later built another one, and it blew an engine, was later parked at his brother's house (the same one you roomed with) and it rotted away, probably 1982, as I have pictures of me in it late 1980. Frank Sr, is the one mainly mentioned here on this site, as he was strongly into the Opels. Dad remembers the dealership you worked at, Temple?? Templeton?? Anyways. Frank got out of the Opels and tinkered around with a few other cars, but mainly is into the Mopar scene. Frank Sr, did the same. I have managed to stay in the Opel scene, and currently restore them for others, and enjoy them myself. I actually own Frank Sr's daughters Opel GT, my aunt.
