hi everyone! just found this site, having a blast looking at everyones opels.

here's some shots of my '73 GT

are there any members close by? i'm located in san francisco (94015) and wondering if there are any meets that take place nearby?

One of the biggest meets on the west coast is the OMC picnic. Varies on location every year, but, still the best. You should know about Opel GT Source out there, but, there's a lot of Opelers out your way.

welcome to the neighborhood, great looking GT, I think those wheels really suit that car. there are several opels and owners in area, closest meet was in Livermore last year. more opel get togethers in Sacramento area, but there is a casual car show here in Martinez every fri pm all summer, another one close by, Clayton, wed pm. other towns have similar. it would be great for some opels to show up. there is also Tacoma in july but thats not close. looks like a miata? with your GT in garage, what is the yellow one??

That's a nice GT you have!....and is the Mk II Escort an RS2000?....you don't see many of the German Escorts over here.

Each July is the Tacoma gathering of Opels, which, this year will also be the 2009 National Opel Meet.

I believe it starts on Friday the 17th and runs through Sunday.

You just missed the 3rd annual foothills run from Auburn to Sonora via highway 49, a truly great sports car road.

Join the Nor Cal Opelers group within this forum. We post our get togethers within this section.

Welcome. Watch for the NorCal group postings. We had a annual fun run in April from Sacramento to OGTS in Sonora (Hwy 49) with 8 Opels participating. Sure would like to increase that number next year. We did the Livermore show last fall. It comes up again Sept. 27th. Details are at Http://AltamontCruisers.org. It was a good show for clubs as they had plenty of room in old Livermore for cars. We also gathered at the Sudwerks in Davis this winter for a gathering and meal. Unfortunately they changed their menu and dropped most of the German food.

Wow, nice gathering !!! Was that a monthly show, or just a one time event?

I always liked the Simcas and the NSU Prinz with its rear engine.
We need to have the Kadett C guys join us next time we do a fun run. Maybe even invite them to our June BBQ in Sacramento.
